Ramos to Offer Tips on Dealing with Employee Fraud in a Downturned Economy


Norcross, GA – September 10, 2009

In his session, Ramos will discuss how higher education institutions can implement an ethics program to reduce faculty and staff misconduct, including research fraud and fund misuse. Entitled, “Tips for Dealing with Employee Fraud and Misconduct in a Down Economy,” his session will cover:

  • Deterring misconduct before it happens through high-impact communications
  • Maintaining an environment of integrity with codes of conduct
  • Identifying fraud reporting trends to detect misconduct early

Additionally, Ramos will present findings from the 2009 Corporate Governance and Compliance Hotline Benchmarking Report, the industry’s only comprehensive compliance benchmarking report, which was produced by The Network and BDO Consulting, and The Network’s Quarterly Corporate Fraud Index, which captured fraud theft reporting data for the second quarter of 2009.

Ramos will be one of the ACUA speakers presenting anti-fraud knowledge in education. His presentation will occur on Monday, Sep. 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, Minn. The 2009 ACUA Annual Conference will include sessions on auditing governance, ethics, enterprise risk management, information technology, compliance, research and fraud.
