Ramos to Offer Tips for Dealing with Employee Fraud and Misconduct in a Down Economy


Norcross, GA – August 17, 2009

In his session, Ramos will discuss how organizations can implement a whistleblower program that generates results and reduces fraud and other types of misconduct. Entitled, “Tips for Dealing with Employee Fraud and Misconduct in a Down Economy,” his session will cover:

  • The need for all employees to understand the code of conduct set forth by the institution.
  • The role investigations can play in deterring fraud.
  • The methods to increase employee training and build confidence in the ethical culture of an organization.
  • How to use reporting trends to determine unique hot spots.

Additionally, Ramos will present findings from the 2009 Corporate Governance and Compliance Hotline Benchmarking Report, the industry’s only comprehensive compliance benchmarking report, which was produced by The Network and BDO Consulting, and The Network’s Quarterly Corporate Fraud Index, which captured fraud theft reporting data for the second quarter of 2009.

Ramos’ presentation will occur on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at 3:50 p.m. at the Loews Coronado Bay Hotel in San Diego. The 2009 Internal Audit Solutions for Tough Times Conference will include sessions on governance, risk, compliance, fraud and technology.
