ON-DEMAND WEBINAR | The Human Side of GRC: The Essence of Governance, Risk and Compliance
September 12 2011
It’s the most fundamental and frequently asked question in GRC practice: How do you influence people throughout the organization (from the boardroom to the mail room) to become fully engaged in establishing and maintaining a true culture of ethical governance, risk management, and compliance?
In this webinar, risk and crisis management experts Bruce Blythe and Rick Machold present a new and refreshing people-based view of GRC using two generally accepted and proven models of leadership development and behavior management. The first – the U.S. Army’s “Be, Know, Do” leadership development model – serves as an overall organizing construct for evaluating the GRC process. The second – “Pinpoint, Record and Reward” – is a simple tactical formula to influence behavior in desired directions and is presented as a device to influence the right GRC management behaviors. These simple but useful tools present an alternative set of building blocks and criteria for improving the GRC process and evaluating the effectiveness of your GRC efforts.
The delivery of this people-based approach to GRC is made possible through a code of conduct that is simple, effective and personable. Jay Thomas, creative director at The Network, Inc., rounds out the conversation around the human side of GRC with a discussion of how to create and apply a code of conduct that engages employees and helps them to meet ethical workplace challenges.
