Quality Assurance Engineer
The QA Engineer is responsible for performing quality assurance duties throughout the existing web application enhancement projects and new .Net application. This position requires a self-motivated individual with 1-3 years of Quality Assurance experience and at least 1 year experience with testing in a web development environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working closely with Program Management, Product Development and Developers to create test plans and test cases for all necessary projects and application releases. The execution of test cases, creation of detailed test plans, defect tracking and analysis are key responsibilities. Excellent communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work as a member of a project team in a fast-paced environment. More specifically, job responsibilities will include:
- Review project documentation for all assigned projects to ensure that the project requirements are clearly defined
- Develop and execute test cases based on business requirements
- Report defects and escalate issues as needed
- Contribute to the project success in a team environment while simultaneously completing individual tasks and goals
- Share knowledge by effectively documenting work
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s)
- Communicate effectively to the team throughout the development process
- Troubleshoot new builds and post production issues
- Perform early morning or late night validation when new releases are being deployed into production
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years QA experience focusing on software verification and back-end data validation
- Minimum of 1 year testing experience with internet / web application
- Minimum of 1 year performing SQL queries to validate data
- Experience with business logic testing
- Experience working in an iterative development environment
- Must have Full Life Cycle development experience
- Knowledge of documentation reviews and requirement analysis
- Experience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio) required
- Demonstrated experience in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating one’s own work, and ability to multi-task successfully
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment (either independently or within a team setting)
- Must be able to contribute in a team environment
- Experience with HP Quality Center (formerly Test Director)
