Systems Engineer

As an Systems Engineer for The Network, you will be an integral part of the Network Operations team. You will be responsible for the installation and support of Production and Corporate hardware, software, system upgrades, and patch management. You will also manage the monthly patch cycle and upgrade process for servers. In addition, you will:

Coordinate service requests with third-party technology providers and vendors
Provide third-level desktop and application support for the Operations and Help Desk groups
Participate in On-call rotation for after hours support of Production systems and applications
Provide first-level support and maintenance for VMWare ESX environments and various Microsoft technologies: Exchange systems, Active Directory, SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, Internet Information Services (IIS),Windows System Update Services (WSUS)
Assist with the support of backup systems and tape rotations
Support of network and security systems and protocols such as DNS, DHCP,TCP/IP
Maintain system documentation and diagrams.
Collaborate with peers on the implementation of projects
Assist in system architecture and support for implementation of new business initiatives

Required Skills And Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting medium to large-scale IT infrastructures
Experience designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft technology environments
Ability to provide hands on maintenance, installation, support and troubleshooting of data networking, and Intel servers and desktops
Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical constituents, both internal and external
Ability to learn and grow as required by the Company’s or Technological demands
Proven customer satisfaction/service skills and customer service mentality
