Digital Media Traffic Manager
High-volume creative team seeking a detail-oriented Traffic Manager to schedule multiple Creative, Digital Media and Production projects, manage workflow for those projects and serve as central point of contact for project stakeholders, including members of Sales, Marketing, Accounting and IT teams. The Traffic Manager is a critical player in properly channeling creative and technical resources in an efficient and cost-effective manner and interfacing with clients to report project status and set/manage expectations. Our team relies on our Traffic Manager to act as communicator, scheduler, information gatherer, quality inspector, problem anticipator and go-to person on all projects.
More specifically, you will:
- Create timelines, schedule projects and manage each team member’s workload and time tracking through all phases of production; update project schedules, reprioritize assignments and resolve workload issues as needed under changing circumstances.
- Administer electronic traffic system(s) to ensure business rules are applied that properly route information (concepts, copy, proofs and digital media) through the internal approval process
- Analyze project information to identify improvements to traffic management tools, accuracy of estimates, staffing, procedures and provide training to all team members.
- Anticipate the need for outside resources and manage the vendor relationship for items such as audio studio, translation service, proofreading service, photographers, etc. to collect estimates, establish purchase orders, coordinate meetings to hand off projects and schedule work
- Coordinate development tasks by partnering with IT project managers using Agile software development methodologies
- Prepare and update status reports, manage expenses to project budgets and identify out-of-scope work requests requiring change orders.
- Participate in client calls and meetings to capture input and feedback on projects
- Maintain accurate project records and ensures assets are organized and archived and assist Sales in gathering materials for sales presentations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A veteran in traffic and project management with demonstrated experience managing complex creative projects including digital media, web, interactive as well as print production in a high volume shop; knowledge of eLearning, software development and/or multimedia based applications is a plus
- Knowledgeable about a wide-array of authoring tools, programming languages and file types such as HTML/CSS, XML, Flash, NET, PDF, Adobe Creative Suite, etc; ability to work with these tools is a plus
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented and a skilled communicator, especially when it comes to gathering and communicating accurate project information to team members
- A strong decision-maker with an ability to resolve conflicts or difficult situations in a diplomatic and professional manner
- Enthusiastic, positive with strong listening/reasoning skills and able to thrive in a team setting that demands a high volume and high quality of work
- Able to contribute to the establishment of new work procedures and systems and to identify improvements
