The Network’s Advisory Board is a unique
team of visionary individuals from various backgrounds
who offer unique insights into key areas of our
business. This team shares their extensive experience
to help The Network review current strategies
and improve the way we do business.
Jim Childs
Jim Childs’ career began in 1991 at Arthur
Andersen in Atlanta as an Audit Senior in the
Enterprise Group. In 1993, Mr. Childs left Arthur
Andersen to attend Harvard Business School. In
the summer of 1994, he worked in the Corporate
Finance Group at Goldman Sachs in New York, where
he focused on M&A deals for large companies.
After business school, Mr. Childs joined the
Corporate Finance Group of Robinson-Humphrey,
a leading investment bank. With his experience
in raising capital and executing M&A transactions
for information technology firms, Mr. Childs
became Vice President of IT Services. In 1998,
he co-founded J3 Technology Services with John
Martin and Jon Piot. Since then, the business
has grown to 500 employees with over $100 million
in sales. The company is backed by Craven, Green
and Wahlen, an Atlanta-based private equity firm.
His areas of expertise include Investment banking,
M&A, capital raising, and entrepreneurial
ventures. Mr. Childs holds a BBA in Accounting
from the University of Georgia, where he was
recently named "2002 Outstanding Young Alumnus".
He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
King Rogers
King Rogers retired in February, 2001, after
almost seventeen years as Vice President of Assets
Protection for Target Corporation, one of the
first retailers to field a National Investigations
Team. Under Mr. Rogers’ watch, Target was
also innovative in implementing technological
solutions to impact internal theft, reduce involuntary
employer turnover and improve service and productivity.
Prior to joining Target, Mr. Rogers was Director
of Assets Protection for Strawbridge and Clothier
in Philadelphia. He also was with the National
Security Agency and served as an Intelligence
Officer in the U.S. Air Force in Southeast Asia.
Mr. Rogers has served as the Chairman of the
International Mass Retailers Association Loss
Prevention Committee and was awarded the IMRA’s
President Award. Mr. Rogers has earned a reputation
as an expert in identifying theft and fraud issues
and for developing innovative and impactful solutions.
He has received recognition from the Food Marketing
Institute, the Federal Bureau of Investigation,
the International Organization of Black Security
Executives, and Michigan State University. Mr.
Rogers holds a BA from Yale University.
William H. Bolen, Jr.
Bill Bolen is an experienced consultant who
has assisted clients in a wide variety of strategic
and operational areas. He has significant sales
and marketing experience, including market evaluation,
customer segmentation, value proposition design,
and internal capability building to ensure successful
implementation. As an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company’s
Atlanta office, Mr. Bolen has spent three years
helping a variety of companies on many different
business issues including operations, mergers
and acquisitions, sales and marketing, globalization,
growth strategies, and cost reduction. He has
published his work several times, including an
article for the McKinsey Quarterly and a Harvard
Business School operations strategy case. Before
working with McKinsey & Company, Mr. Bolen
worked as a Sales Specialist for Dow Plastics,
Foam Products, where he grew his market’s
business by seven percent. Mr. Bolen holds a
BS in Marketing from the University of Alabama
and an MBA from Harvard University.
