Solution provides control of full policy lifecycle, natively integrates with other governance, risk and compliance solutions from The Network
ATLANTA — May 9, 2012 — The Network, Inc., a leading provider of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) solutions, announced today the release of Policy Management, an enterprise SaaS-based application that facilitates the entire policy management lifecycle from creation to implementation. Part of the company’s Integrated GRC Suite, Policy Management helps companies meet regulatory compliance requirements as well as centralize, collaborate on and distribute organizational policies and procedures. Through the use of embedded interactive media that engages employees, Policy Management ensures that employees retain critical information.
“Simply having good policies isn’t enough,” said Luis Ramos, chief executive officer of The Network. “Organizations require control over the entire policy lifecycle, which includes distribution, communication and training; updates as regulatory changes take place; and archival and auditing should a legal argument arise.”
“Policies set the boundaries for risk and drive desired behaviors, so good policy management is essential,” said GRC analyst Michael Rasmussen, Corporate Integrity LLC. “To be most effective, a policy management system must connect existing policies to industry regulations and then efficiently communicate those policies in a consistent manner to all employees.”
The Network’s Policy Management optimizes the end-to-end administration of policies and procedures, from creation through approval, publication and attestation, utilizing a wiki-based structure and social media-style interface. A centralized active repository for policies, sources, controls and exceptions, Policy Management allows organizations to map policies to the regulations they support and to the control standards that support them. The web-based solution fully integrates with all applications in The Network’s GRC suite, including the Case Management and Reporting & Analytics solutions, allowing users to access policy-related data in a number of ways and see the connections between policies, violations, incident investigations and remediation activities.
“How well employees understand their organization’s policies is a key indicator of risk exposure,” said Jimmy Lin, vice president of Product Management and Corporate Development at The Network. “Our solution provides best-in-class capabilities and goes beyond the typical SharePoint document management approach, which lacks sufficient audit, reporting and controls functionality to be truly effective.”
